What Do I wear into the salt room?

*Dress comfortably and bring a pair of clean socks.

Your clothes might get a little salty!

please refrain from wearing any cologne, perfume, or fragrances.

We keep the room between 68-72 degrees and we are happy to offer comfortable throw blankets to enhance your comfort throughout your stay.

How many people will be in the salt room?

*Our salt room holds 5 guests at one time.

​

Is salt therapy safe for children?

*YES! We offer special family hours so that your children can enjoy all of the amazing benefits alongside their caregivers.

​

Is Salt therapy safe for pregnant women?

*Yes. we will always advise consulting your physician, however salt therapy is a great holistic alternative for mamas to be that do not want to heavily rely on over the counter medications to treat their respiratory conditions.

​

Due to increased fluid in the body during pregnancy many struggle with nasal congestion . Salt therapy gently and effectively loosens nasal passageways to make breathing easier.

​

Can I bring personal items into the salt therapy room?

*We do NOT allow cell phones and electronic devices into the salt room. 

The salt particles in the air are harmful to electronics. We do provide lockers to our guests to secure their belongings during their stay. We encourage you to bring a book, meditate, take a nap, or relax during your session.

​

How long is a session?

*A session is 45 minutes long and start on the hour.

We start on the hour to be able to create a peaceful and smooth transition between sessions and to allow time to wipe down chairs and "tidy up" before the next group enters the salt therapy room.

​

How Frequently should I come?

*The frequency of salt therapy sessions depends on your individual goals. 

Chronic respiratory issues 2-3 times per week is recommended.

​

Skin conditions 1-2 times per week.

overall wellness 1 time per week.

​

It truly depends on how well you feel after each session but a series of sessions is typically recommended for the best results. 

​

How clean is the salt room?

*Due to the anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-microbial properties that salt possess we take pride in expressing  the cleanliness that is naturally occurring in the salt room on top of our high cleaning standards that are preformed in between each session. 

Rest assured  you can relax in a very safe and sterile environment and enjoy all of the amazing benefits.

Can I reserve the salt room for a group of friends?

*Absolutely!

Please contact the spa to speak to one of our spa coordinators to best assist and accommodate you. We would be happy to help you reserve your desired date/ time.

What are the contraindications of salt therapy?

Anyone with a fever or infectious illness, renal failure, or tuberculosis should avoid receiving salt therapy.

​

What are the side effects of salt therapy?

You may experience a runny nose due to the drainage of the sinuses and mucus within your respiratory system.

​

You will feel very relaxed and  may experience very restful sleep post session.

​

The history 

After studying and observing the salt mine workers dating as far back as 1843 , scientifically proven evidence demonstrates how

effective salt therapy truly is .

They were regularly exposed to salt naturally occurring in caves which is called “speleotheapy” and they were extremely healthy individuals .

 

While we certainly all may not be able to visit natural salt mines deep below the earth for extended periods of time ,our halogenetor makes it possible to expose you to the same benefits in an effective and relaxing 45 minute session while pharmaceutical grade minerals are being dispersed through the air into aerosol like particles.

Surrounded by over 6 thousand lbs of salt , negative ions are released into the room naturally improving your mood + energy levels.

Bring a book, mediate or relax with a warm lavender eye pillow and blanket while you recline in a comfortable lounger and BREATHE.
